Meet The Team: Joseph Salvatorelli (he/him)
Here at Alfred, we love growth. Of course in our business, but even more when talking about our people.

Meet Joe Salvatorelli, our Senior Associate, Community Engagement. Joe started with us as an Alfred Home Manager, providing service to our Connecticut residents and now oversees our Waypointe community. He is the man behind our exciting resident events, and the reason we have a strong sense of community within our buildings.
What’s Your Coffee Order?
Don’t laugh at me. It’s an iced caramel latte, whole milk and extra light. Milk with a little coffee.
What’s your pump up song?
Enter Sandman by Metallica.
What makes you, you?
Hometown pride. I am a huge Yankees and Jets fan because I was born and raised in the Bronx. It’s all about New York to me. I also have a super power of adaptability and the ability to execute with success when learning and managing multiple situations. I also have a secret talent of being an excellent pizza maker. We have an oven and everything. I live for making pizza. My favorite to make is a classic Margarita and I can’t wait to make pizzas with my daughter, Sienna.
What makes you feel at home at Alfred?
The teammates that I work with feel like family and I am able to be myself and feel comfortable amongst the team. The ability to just be myself really hits home for me.
Where were you before Alfred? We want to know your journey that led you here.
Prior to Alfred, I was working at a restaurant as manager for 5 years. There finally came a time where I needed to start a career — no more restaurants and odd jobs, working 70 hours a week. I thought, “if I want to settle down and start a family I can’t be doing this.” My now wife was working with me at the restaurant and she really inspired me to figure out what was best for me and my future. So I started my search for a new job, and Alfred came along.
I thought it was such an interesting and cool concept, went on several interviews and knew on the first one that it was my opportunity to have a consistent job with manageable hours — my dream came true. Once I started working as an Alfred Home Manager, I was able to have a social life, spend meaningful time with my family and get things outside of work done. It was and still is amazing. Once you add in the camaraderie of the Alfred culture, it really is wonderful. Every piece of the puzzle fits together now.
Now that you’re here, what is one thing you’re excited to make happen at Alfred?
I’m really excited to show current and future buildings how Alfred can change your life. That’s one thing that’s so important to me — explaining to residents what Alfred is and how we can make a difference in everyone’s life. I transitioned from working inside the homes of a few residents as an Alfred Home Manager to becoming a main point of contact for an entire community. I loved our pop up with Glowbar last week because I was able to chat with attending residents and catch up from the last time I saw them at a Waypointe Happy Hour.
What does community mean to you?
Community is the ability to engage with one another. It means to come together as a neighborhood and work together on different activities and interests. For example: I love our resident events. Everyone comes together for a great conversation, to try new things and learn a new hobby. This sounds so old fashioned of me to say but everyone getting to know each other and just being friends is my ultimate goal. Yes, everyone may have different interests, but we all live in the same building. It’s a community. Coming together and learning about one another is very important to me.
