Meet The Team: Maggie Wetzel (she/her)
This week’s ‘Meet the Team’ features a renaissance woman, who thrives on having multiple things on her to do list.

Maggie Wetzel, our Sales Specialist of Real Estate Growth, learned all the skills she needed for her role with us by getting to know her community, in the city she loves most.
What’s your coffee order?
I normally just order a simple medium coffee with oat milk. If I’m feeling fancy I will do an oat milk cappuccino
What is your pump up song?
I have quite a few. Right now I have an 80s and 90s decade playlist that I’ve been using for my bike rides. One of my favorites on there is If You Steal My Sunshine by LEN, it’s so snappy.
What makes you, you?
My super power is empathy and my defining quality is that I love dipping my toes in a lot of different things at once. I come from a very creative focus background — majored in musical theatre at school, moved to NY and worked in the restaurant industry and then got involved in the yoga world and somehow I ended up at a tech company doing sales. So I clearly love to wear a million different hats and just continually learn. I love learning and get really excited about working with people, collaboration and everything that goes with it.
What was your journey that led you to your current role at Alfred?
I came over to Alfred from the HOM acquisition in May. Prior to that, I was living the stereotypical starving artist life working in a restaurant (I wasn’t actually starving, they always gave us free food), working the audition scene and teaching yoga part time. Then one of my teacher friends told me about this really great company, called HOM. I interviewed there quickly after and landed a full-time role on the sales team in 2018 and stayed onboard during the acquisition. It was a pretty wild ride, but I found myself fitting in really nicely in the sales world because a lot of the skills that I had brought in from both my acting and restaurant industry. Oddly enough, I gained a lot of tools there that helped me in the sales world. I was always the top seller at the restaurants anytime we did specials, like whoever can sell the most bottles of wine by the end of the night, it was always me winning.
What does community mean to you?
Connection. Being able to be on site in the properties and getting to know the residents, community is relationship building, community is getting to know one another and connecting on a human level finding out that we are more alike than not. And feeling a sense of place wherever you are, a feeling of home.
Now that you’re here, what are you most excited to make happen?
I am so excited by what we have to offer and that we can cover it all. Not to get too salesy, but the fact we are an end to end solution is really amazing. When I was with HOM there were some things we just weren’t capable of but always wanted to be, and now those dreams can come true because of being ‘One Team’ at Alfred. It really does provide everything that not only a building can do but carries through to the resident side of things. We step in and truly make everyone’s day-to-day easier.
Something you learned during the pandemic?
I learned that I am an extrovert. I always thought that I was an introvert, but turns out I am certainly an extrovert. I missed being out and about in the city and connecting with people, thriving on that energy was my biggest realization. I live in a little compound, a gated community in Brooklyn, so I witness the power of community everyday and being without that for even a year, made me really truly miss it. That is something I think should exist in every multifamily building.
