Glowbar is a drop in or membership based, custom facial in just 30 minutes. You heard correctly- just 30 minutes to a professional facial with certified estheticians, customized to your skin’s needs. We sat down with the Glowbar team to ask some questions and get to know the brand that’s making self care accessible and most of all, easy.
How long has Glowbar been in business?
While Glowbar has been in business a little over two years, having opened our doors in Tribeca in June of 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic caused us to have to then close our doors for six months, so we really have only been operating for a little over a year and a half. However, in that time, we have managed to open two additional studios in the Upper East Side and Westport and will be opening two more studios before the end of this year.
Why is the community so important to the brand?
Community is so important to our brand because our customers are our best advertisers. After all, their faces are our walking advertisement! Our commitment to our mission, to make people feel confident in their own skin, is seen by just looking at our clients’ faces, which is how we have been able to build a strong community of loyal supporters and fierce advocates in such a short time, and we could not be more grateful for them.
Tell us what makes Glowbar so impactful to your community?
At Glowbar, we offer our clients 30-minute, customized, targeted treatments, so they can spend less time on their self-care and more time doing the things that bring them joy like spending time with friends and family, meditation, exercise, or even just catching up on their favorite tv shows! As we believe that when people feel good they do good, through combining this timesaving approach with our mission, to make people feel confident in their own skin, we are impacting the broader community around each Glowbar studio by allowing our clients to put their best foot forward out in the world.
Why did you choose to plant roots in Connecticut and NYC?
When it comes to choosing where to plant our roots, the most important thing that we consider is the communities that we are entering. So, we picked our locations in both CT and NYC by answering the question: in which communities can we make the largest impact? We have been so fortunate to have found and fostered these Glowbar communities in Westport, Tribeca, and the Upper East Side, and we are excited to continue to enter communities that value our mission and welcome us with open arms.
Who is your customer?
Assuming that you don’t want to hear everyone (even though everyone should be taking care of their skin consistently), we typically have targeted the 25–45-year-old who is looking to save time and money when it comes to taking care of themselves.
What excited you most about partnering with Alfred?
As previously mentioned, at Glowbar, we offer our clients 30-minute, customized, targeted treatments, so they can spend less time on their self-care and more time doing the things that bring them joy. The brand alignment we have with Alfred in this sense is undeniable, as they are a company built around a similar time-saving mission, so this partnership was an absolute no-brainer, and we are so excited about it!
What are the plans for the future?
For Glowbar, growth is the name of the game as we want to make skin care accessible to everyone. Since our inception in 2019, we have opened three locations in under two years, with two more to open by the end of 2021. Looking forward, Glowbar is on track to end 2022 with ten total locations, and we are gearing up to open 100 locations by 2030. We are growing and glowing and could not be more excited about it!
